MATH SPEAKING
Saying the same idea or question in
a number of ways is an important strategy
to support English Learners’
academic and content understanding.
Each of those ways may be the one
way that makes sense for a particular
student.
Here are activities to review math learning
at the end of a unit or to prepare
for year end tests. Some of the activities
have writing involved and all of them
are focused on math vocabulary, but
during each activity it is imperative
for students to be discussing with
each other their thinking.
